Same principle but was aimed at kids to help them understand how to recycle. You throw the rubbish into the choice of bins. What rubbish goes in which bin?
The visual effect with this site is the food being thrown at the audience and splattering on the screen. So I thought maybe the bin could throw its rubbish back at you after you have just thrown the rubbish into the bin. Like the bin has a character 'it doesnt want your crap.'
This is one of the sketches I did for the first idea 'Creature Comforts' this was originally aimed at a much younger audience. However adding the voice (of a foul mouthed but humorous character) would have aimed it at a teen/adult audience.
This is a quick stop-frame animation i did. imagine that the image and text of the bin is inside the piece of paper, and that it opens up when the user clicks on that bit of rubbish.
i like the style of this illustration, and it could possibly work for the individual bin page, with the bin large like the phone-booth, and the background made up of text, contents etc
Did an illustration of a bin.. i quite like the dirt marks around it that must have already been on the scanner glass

A link to a video about Nottinghams 'big spring clean', worth watching as it shows the councils methods of promoting the use of bins and recycling. http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/www/bscvideo/bscfinal.htm
Found a report on Nottingham city centres 'streetscape components', which is basically the city's identity. It gives requirements of everything in the city centre from benches to signage, ive put up the bit on bins.
